If one of them raised their voice, I would add a tally to their column. At the end of the conversation or the day, I would give each parent their tally list. 20 years later when I told her I was going to school for psychotherapy, she told me she was 0% surprised; my childhood self had already predicted my future.

Today, I’m a psychotherapist with a private practice, a writer, content creator and a podcaster. My research and content focus on how can you – someone without an [advanced] education in psychology – contextualize mental health (mis)information and simplify the political & cultural landscape through psychology.
You can find my writings in my newsletter, Psychobabble, my content at @joenuccitherapy, and my debut book coming to booksellers near you in 2025.
I live in New York, where I run by the water, attend EDM concerts, and make friends in elevators.
